It's very scary if you withdraw too fast. Just take 1/4 less every two weeks, and when you get down to the last 1/4 just shave it down and you'll be fine. I took me three months to get off paxil. It was the best thing I've ever done. Take it slow and you'll be fine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-59113298006848514832009-12-15T19:39:33.312+00:002009-12-15T19:39:33.312+00:00I was prescribed with antidepressants because of a...I was prescribed with antidepressants because of an irritable colon disorder that my doc thought was because of depression. Anyhow, throughout the year of using Paxil, i felt very unreal, over confident, aggressive etc so I decided to stop. And like many here, my doc didnt mention anything about tapering or withdrawl symptoms so i stopped cold turkey. I got all the above symptoms.. Zaps, confusion, vomiting, insomnia, major panic attacks "basically everything". The worst part was not knowing what was wrong with me and visiting the ER's almost on a daily basis thinking i had heart attacks, poisoning etc.. Anyhow, after a month of running around, i realised it may have been because of the medicine i stopped and started reading through the net.
To cut the long stgory short, this is what I did and this is what u can do to help urselves..

My doctor prescribed lexotonil for me to relax and control the symptoms of the paxil withdrawl.

The dosage was decided by me and the doctor together considering that only you feel whats wrong with you and how much medicine you need to feel better.

After 9 months of taking 1 20mg lexotanil tablet, i started feeling better than before so i started tapering the lexotanil very very gradually. Lexotanil is very addictive but tapering very slowly is less painful than Paxil.

So in short, there is light at the end of the tunnel but live your life step by step and be optimistic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-41603891459756921612009-08-19T19:59:30.875+01:002009-08-19T19:59:30.875+01:00Send me an email Troy. Vomiting, cognitive failure, intense anger and hatred, all these symptomes kicked in about 6 weeks after the last dose. Now, 18 months later I am still struggling but slowly recovering.
It is a bloddy shame that this drug from hell is still prescribed and the victims get no recognition from the medical world.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07550915972338819366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-65063251236986450952009-01-14T22:47:00.000+00:002009-01-14T22:47:00.000+00:00This from the Medicine's regulator in the UK:A ser...This from the Medicine's regulator in the UK:

A series of new studies suggests that birth defects are more common in babies whose mothers took paroxetine early in their pregnancy.

The most recent study followed a group of women and recorded the outcomes of their pregnancies. 958 women in the study took paroxetine in the first three months of their pregnancy.

Together these new studies suggest that: About 4 in 100 babies whose mothers take paroxetine in early pregnancy will be born with a birth defect. I have managed on occasion to get down to 5mg a day but when i try to cut down any further the side effects are horrendous, nausea, head shocks, dizziness, weakness, depressed mood etc. The main reason i am hoping to become seroxat free is cause i am hoping to start a family soon and am very concerned as have heard that seroxat can cause harm to an unborn foetus. i was hoping someone could inlighten me on this if they have had a pregnancy while on seroxat. I really don't think i will be able to come off it but at the same time could not live with myself having caused harm to my unborm baby because of it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-41380801273643577772008-08-09T13:09:00.000+01:002008-08-09T13:09:00.000+01:00I hve been on seroxat for around 7 years. i have t...I hve been on seroxat for around 7 years. i have tried coming off in the past but just couldn't do it. Found out last fri that i am 5 weeks pregnant so have to stop whilst baby's heart is developing. (it is reported to cause heart defects in babies) I feel so so bad-anxious,depressed, crying all the time, having headshocks and dizziness, nausea-i feel like a heroin addict-am just craving that pill but know that i am not able to have it. Am dreaming of the moment the baby is born where i can have a pill right after. Also have a toddler to care for and a business to run-God help me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
