Monty, mate: we're having a fucking good laugh at your expense. Please give another interview, soon. Please run for President of France, too: that would be fucking hilarious.

MattRadagasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14286529284742690239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-28637230766046712612008-05-20T19:41:00.000+01:002008-05-20T19:41:00.000+01:00Well well..Didn't this little birdie flaunt his tr...Well well..

Didn't this little birdie flaunt his true colours? (with quite a lot of fluffing and squawking I might add)

Definitely the most entertaining thing I have heard in ages, that's for sure..

If anything, it is indeed quite appropriate and justifiably poetic that Garnier should leave the ivory tower of fortress Glaxo on such a disastrous low note...

What was presented here by JP was an acute insight into how GSK views the public, patients and consumers of GSK drugs...

ie.. With complete disregard, condescension and disdain ...

Basically he doesn't give a fuck about people who have been severely damaged by GSK's infamous Seroxat anti-depressant...

He's retiring now, jumping ship and leaving Andrew Witty to clean up the tarnised image of the GSK corporate machine...

The devastation Glaxo drugs have caused to countless individuals during the reign of JP is akin to that of a crooked dictator of a third world country..

Maybe he should go and work with the Burmese Military Junta? , his skills of leadership would go down well in that kind of unquestionable authoritarian regime...

In this interview , he was more interested in promoting GSK's bird flu vaccine (which in itself seems like another scam to me)than addressing the real issues which plague and rot his company..

Issues such as greed, arrogance and abortion of ethics

I had to laugh when I heard him say that GSK were found innocent of wrongdoing by the MHRA... Erm...
No.. they were found guilty but they were not prosecuted..
There is a slight difference there JP..
Kent Woods said himself that the MHRA still held suspicions that GSK witheld negative data on paroxetine..
He also said himself that their PR image is severely damaged...
So when will be see the Data JP?..

JP also seemed to think that being let off the hook for "corporate manslaughter" of children is something GSK should be proud of ..

"a good outcome for the company"..

Sure..yeah

The public really respect GSK now..

People always warm to companies that get away with corporate crime.. (particularly the killing of kids)

NOT...

But ever the consummate megalomaniac, Garnier has indeed retired with a hissy fit bang...

I can't thank Mr Naughtie and the BBC enough for this interview..

So refreshing to see proper broadcasting with firm, unadulterated integrity...

BBC.. Much respect..

I'm not sure what kind of faith Mr Garier adheres to (apart from his obvious deluded belief in the divinity of money, power and prestige).. but maybe he could learn a thing ot two about the concept of "Karma" (and no, thats not the curry kind, its a buddhist belief JP, "google it")

Whether one believes in the Buddhist concept of Karma or any other spiritual faith is not really the point though..

Universal truths are called universal truths because they have a resonance with this incredible thing we call "life" and "humanity"...

Mr Garnier is about the same age my Grandfather was when he died of Cancer ..
My grandfather left a legacy of love, respect and fond memories for all his 11 children and 38 grandchildren to cherish..

So, personally I find it difficult to comprehend how any human being could spend such a long ammount of time on this planet without learning at least one lesson..

So this is for you JP..
Lesson one from the universal truth handbook is called "Compassion"..

'Compassion and love are not mere luxuries.
As the source both of inner and external peace,
they are fundamental to the continued survival of our species.'

-His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama

Having been prescribed Seroxat myself and suffered its devastating effects first hand, it was easy for me to hate GSK for a long time...

But, sometimes, the glimpse of hope in the form of "Karma in action" restores my faith in the good of the universe..

So thank you JP for providing that for me..

Have a happy retirement dude..
Try to be good now won't ya?...

;)Truthman30https://www.blogger.com/profile/13472167017897959954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-7485851819912883312008-05-20T16:39:00.000+01:002008-05-20T16:39:00.000+01:00Quality."I'm not going to answer vague questions" ...Quality.

"I'm not going to answer vague questions" "I'm not going to answer this" "we have spoken enough about this" etc etc etc..........

erm, NO...........YOU Jean Paul Pierre ducked and dived and avoided all questions and never gave any proper answers.

This guy should be a politician, cos he never answers the feckin question !!!

10/10 to Radio4's Today prog and James Naughtie for this 'expose' of what a little weasel JPG is, and to Fid for posting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-35454543718113370222008-05-20T13:22:00.000+01:002008-05-20T13:22:00.000+01:00It was also picked up by The Times (UK) and the na...It was also picked up by The Times (UK) and the name of the interviewer is James Naughtie (how appropriate)

Question: Would you trust such a transparently evasive person to advise you about what may be? an effective vaccine for a global pandemic of mutated H5N1--if such a mutation should ever take place? nb. at the present time this is a disease of birds, and occasionally it has crossed from bird to human, where both species exist in very close proximity.

Regards,

Stuart.
_____________
_http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/columnists/article3964387.ece_

Martin Waller: City Diary

Jean-Pierre Garnier, the GlaxoSmithKline chief executive, probably expected an easy ride when he appeared on Radio 4's Today to puff the firm's anti-bird flu vaccine. He didn't get it. James Naughtie laid into an increasingly furious Garnier about the criticism that GSK came in for over Seroxat, the antidepressant drug linked to suicides among children. “Does this mean that all the information GSK holds on the development of Seroxat will be put in the public domain?” Naughtie asked. This comprised “millions of documents, millions”, Garnier countered, saying that all had been made available to watchdogs.

Naughtie pressed him further. “I'm not interested in answering this question. We've dealt with this subject. Thank you for taking the time to hear about the [bird flu] pandemic.” And Garnier was off. It might not have helped that Naughtie referred to a man who clearly takes himself very seriously as “Jean-Paul Garnier”.

___________________________________Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-68717437106570327812008-05-20T03:28:00.000+01:002008-05-20T03:28:00.000+01:00Oh Fid! He didn't appear to respect the authority of the interviewer to ask the questions, and to then expect a succinct, direct answer.

Anyway, the MHRA hardly gave GSK a ringing endorsement of its practices, following its investigation - talk about "economical with the truth"!

MattRadagasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14286529284742690239noreply@blogger.com
