Thought I was having heart attack so I went to ER. Immediately I got a shot of Adenosine and my heart rate was back to normal. I had previous episodes since I was a kid but not like the recent one. I completely stop taking Xenical, coffee, chocolate, alcohol and reduced my cigarettes to 3 sticks a day. I'm on Isoptin SR ( 240 mg once a day) and am feeling fine. Had small episodes and can be controlled by valsalva manuever. I had to have a Sigmoidoscopy since the doctor believed I could have something seriously wrong, but I was relieved to find out it was internal hemorrhoids. Gross, I know, but at least it isn't a pre-cancerous lesion that they have found in rats that are being tested with Alli. I also was having liver pain and an ultrasound revealed that I have gallstones. I never had health issues like this before taking Alli and after the rectal bleeding I stopped taking the pill. Alli has been linked to rectal bleeding and causing gallstones. These things are also linked to being overweight. How do you think GSK gets away with providing the drug? It simply blames its overweight users for their conditions.

Also, to the anonymous people bashing the users of the drug. You don't have their medical background to know what is causing their issues. You shouldn't put them down. They are trying to lose weight and it is not easy. People need help losing weight and we look to Alli for that help. Being told by GSK that the side effects are oily bowel movements. Not knowing that worse things are happening to our bodies until it is too late. Don't bash people, it helps no one. Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself for the moment, but it betters no one!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-44173250504872618412010-04-21T17:51:56.569+01:002010-04-21T17:51:56.569+01:00OK, Alli is recomended for obese people right? Cardiologist said that I only have 40% blockage, but that my plaque had ruptured and blocked the artery... luckily I made it to the emergency room in time, and they were able to stent me and open up the artery withing 40 minutes. I've since stopped taking Alli I lo nonger have any rectal bleeding... I'm doing well since my heart attack, needless to say... I no longer take AlliAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-19002334989707886622009-03-29T23:09:00.000+01:002009-03-29T23:09:00.000+01:00I started taking Alli about a month and a half ago...I started taking Alli about a month and a half ago. I am not obese but was trying to lose 10 lbs. Today I started having rectal bleeding after a bowel movement. I have not had any other symtoms mentioned. I am really scared now. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for Thursday so I guess I had better let my doctor know tomorrow. I stopped taking Alli today. I hope the bleeding goes away.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-1181207634289192232008-08-25T23:14:00.000+01:002008-08-25T23:14:00.000+01:00Yes, me too! I started rectal bleeding. I have had dizziness. Some depression too. I quit the Alli and no more rectal bleeding. I tried the Alli again and the rectal bleeding started again. Also, I have had some chest pain. I will stop taking them all togetherAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10459981.post-42355285936342536012007-10-05T06:58:00.000+01:002007-10-05T06:58:00.000+01:00I have been taking Xenical for just over a month. ...I have been taking Xenical for just over a month. I am only 42 and am in good health other than being overweight. A couple of weeks ago I experienced a heart attack. I felt extremely dizzy then had an uncomfortable squeezing feeling around my heart. I had an angiogram and it found that I had no blockages in any of my arteries but an ECG showed damage to my heart muscle. They don't know what caused my heart attack at this stage. I also experienced extreme bleeding when moving my bowels. I don't know if Xenical is to blame but doctors told me it is highly unusual for someone of my age and health to have a heart attack.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
