Phil Dawdy over at Furious Seasons has an interesting post regarding a new premature ejaculation drug, dapoxetine. Dapoxetine is marketed as Priligy and has just been approved in Sweden and Finland.
Johnson & Johnson hold the patent for the drug - it was sold to them by pharma criminals, Eli Lilly for $65 million dollars and future royalties in December 2003.
Here's the rub [pardon the pun]
Dapoxetine is a short acting SSRi.
So, there is one side effect that pharma have turned to their advantage. Maybe some time down the line pharma will cease the opportunity and create a pill that will give people electric like zaps through their body or maybe a pill that will give the patient the experience of wanting to kill somebody or maybe even themselves!
So we are now led to beleive that dapoxetine will keep the wolf from the door but at what cost?
Premature ejaculation can drive a man [and a woman] insane. I'm guessing dapoxetine will too. I can't wait to see the 'withdrawal' advice on this one!
