Crackdown on British fish and chips

Whatever next?

I'm going to sound like Uncle Albert now but 'during the war' and thereafter, wasn't bread and dripping part of the British diet?

I think the government are in such a mess that they like to deflect their own failings to other people [You and I]

If there is an 'obesity crisis' in the UK, as this article claims, then they [the government] may need to look at technology as the culprit.

Many folk who visit this blog were born in and around the same era - for entertainment, we chose parks... or at least playing outside and getting fresh air and exercise.

For the past 20 years or so, it seems, children have been encouraged to stay indoors to get their jollies with a joystick or PlayStation pad. Crisps, chocolate and other confectionery, close at hand.

If it's not computer games, it's the Internet - talk to a friend online who lives two doors away or write 'It's snowing' as a Facebook status. One doesn't even need to walk the short distance to a post box because electronic mail does that for you... and it's free!

Gone are the days where mom would take the kids to C&A to get them fitted out for their new school uniform - buy it online and let them deliver it.

Fish and chips to blame for obesity? Think again.

You can read the article in the Telegraph... don't worry, you won't have to venture out of your door - just click on the link:
