I would like to bring to your utmost attention an on-going Paxil clinical trial that is currently taking place in Japan. The trial, run by GlaxoSmithKline, is for 7-17 year old children, details of which may be found on GlaxoSmithKline's website here
I would also like to draw your attention to the current situation regarding Paxil in the UK.
You may or may not be aware that Paxil is currently banned for use in minors. There is a reason it is banned. It DOES NOT work in this particular age group.
I am a concerned citizen of the United Kingdom and I write frequently about Paxil [Seroxat in the UK]
You may also be interested in the recent MHRA investigation into GlaxoSmithKline by the UK medicine's regulator, the MHRA.
Basically, the MHRA found that GlaxoSmithKline had not been forthcoming with all the Paxil data in a study they named '329'
You may wish to liaise with the CEO of the MHRA about this matter. KENT WOODS kent.woods@mhra.gsi.gov.uk
I have one very simple question for you.
Why are you standing by and allowing GSK to trial out this drug when by their own admission they state, ""Paroxetine is not approved for the treatment of patients younger than 18 years of age." - http://us.gsk.com/html/media-news/news-paroxetine.html
Please answer within a time frame on this very serious matter.
Regards
Bob Fiddaman
