This Little GSK Piggy Didn't Go To Market

This little piggy went to market.

This little piggy stayed at home.

This little piggy had roast beef.

And this little piggy had none.

But this little piggy went... and got itself a Fatwa!

Tis true I tell thee.

Indonesian Government Switches From GlaxoSmithKline To New Novartis Vaccine

Source

Apparently the Indonesian Council of Ulema (MUI) has issued a fatwa to ban the use of GlaxoSmithKline's meningitis vaccine for using pig-related byproducts in its production process.

Before this rant continues, I respect all religions but believe in none of them.

It seems rather hypocritical that the use of an animal in a product has Muslim leaders up in arms, particularly when the company that manufacture that product have such a tainted history when it comes to human beings.

What's even more odd is that the Fatwa has prompted the Indonesian government to drop its purchase of GSK vaccines for meningitis, switching to the newly approved Novartis vaccine that is said to be made without pig-related byproducts.

I doubt if Novartis have a squeaky clean history with regard to the safety of its products either.

So, if you are one of the expected 211,000 pilgrims making the journey to Mecca from Indonesia this year, make sure you abide by the rules of your religious leaders and opt for the Novartis vaccine, if you don't, you won't be allowed in!

So, carry on harming children with poor drugs that don't have porcine enzymes, that's okay by the Muslim religion.

They should go [excuse the pun] the whole hog and ban all of Glaxo's products. Then again that would probably affect the profits of the shares that many of the Muslim followers have in GlaxoSmithKline. Does Muslim law condone making riches via human suffering?

It's a case of having their pork and eating it.
